NY 36 Chazz 28, 8:39 2Q, Chazz FTO
Chazz needed that TO. Nix (15-7 2Q) are threatening to run away. Barrett now game high with 12.
NY 21 Chazz 21 End 1Q
The Queens hombre Oubre, Jr. must be a load to guard. In this quarter he has twice been fouled making buckets. He leads all scorers with 9.
I have had stuck in my head all day, this: We have no past, we have no future. I thought it was from The Internationale, but it is not. It is not from anywhere that Google tells. Very well, it is mine.
The sentence has been in my head today because of the Miami "Heat." I startled myself by typing last night so starkly, "they have no future." As I thought back on the almost eight years since the breakup of the Big Three, they haven't had a future since! They have sold us on a future: on Hassan Whiteside and James Johnson and Goran Dragic and Dion Weighters. That was the most fun team to follow, Team Joy I called them. Then on Josh Richardson. Then Justise Winslow. Then Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson--and that future came very near to realization. Then Kyle Lowry and PJ Tucker and it has all come undone. I used to look forward to "Heat" games. Other nights were boring. But I stopped following the "Heat"-"Hawks" game last night out of disgusted familiarity. And so...
I cannot follow Miami "Heat" games exclusively any longer. Their games are so uninteresting and put me in a dreary mood. There are far more exciting teams than Miami, teams with futures. Miami is as tired and as old, as unchanging and as bankrupt of new ideas as their president, Pat Riley. I am not switching fandom, the "Heat" are my team. I am just not following their games exclusively anymore.
Tonight's Association menu unfortunately is bland. I'm intrigued by the new ingenue, New York. Charlotte plays them in MSG tonight. The "Knicks" should ravish the Queens and they're 10-point favorites. Philadelphia at Minnesota is another semi-interesting matchup. If Nix-Chazz gets out of hand I may follow that one. Or go to bed early.
This season NBA teams have scored an average of 113.8 ppg apiece (228 points combined). Look at the scores from March 5 and 6:
130-126 (above average)
125-122 (a.a.)
113-105 (below average)
102-86 (below average)
122-119 (a.a.)
142-110 (a.a.)
129-119 (a.a.)
131-129 (2OT, 113-113 after regulation) b.a.
117-111 (average)
135-129 (a.a.)
118-114 (OT, 109-109 after regulation) b.a.
147-143 (a.a.)
110-104 (b.a.)
130-128 (a.a.)
118-113 (a.a.)
123-108 (a.a.)
Ten of sixteen games (62.5%) were over the combined average, one was a push.
Defense optional as Sixers outgun Pacers
You could say the same thing with Cash Considerations.
Holy offense, Batman!
The Sixers outlasted the Indiana Pacers in a 147-143 shootout Monday night. Joel Embiid dropped 42 points on 16 shots, Tyrese Maxey scored at least 20 points for the fifth straight game, James Harden dished out 20 assists, and Jalen McDaniels had his best game as a Sixer.
At the start of yet another back-to-back...
Teams have played a mid-60's number of games anyway and those back-to-backs are...back breakers. Guys are tired.

Fucking "Heat" Fucking "Hawks", 68-63 HT
"Hawks" couldn't even get to 70. ATL shoots 63% in one half, scores 43 points in one QUARTER and the "Heat" are still in this game! These two teams are going nowhere. They are the two bleakest franchises in the Association. They have no future.
