Boston Marathon Bombing.

At least one of the bombs was in a pressure cooker, a common, fairly large, household item. Nylon has been found with remnants of the pressure cooker bomb, suggestive to investigators that it was in a backpack. The bomb was left on the ground. The bomb was in a pressure cooker inside a bookbag left on the ground at the heavily policed finish line of the most famous footrace in America with 35,000 participants and a lot of spectators.

Police and race security personnel should not have missed seeing a bookbag left on the ground at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
