Nobody Cares

What was the top story in the nation's newspapers the day after a new record number of Americans were KIA in World War II? I'll bet it was that a new record number of Americans were killed. I'll bet you that there weren't many days in the four years of that war that the war was not the lead story. Yet today, when a daily record number of Americans were reported killed by coronavirus, which has killed more in ten months than were killed in all of World War II, when the country is just entering the worst period in American history,  these are the top stories aggregated by Google News. This is not the same country.
