The Quasi Official New York Times reports this evening that more Deaths were reported out today than on any other single day of the TrumPlague. This blog relies solely on Johns Hopkins for cumulative and daily totals. I will pass on Hopkins’ numbers when they are available tomorrow when I get up. As much as I emphasize that the daily numbers are those reported to Hopkins on that day, this from the newapaper-of-record, prolly carries more weight than does Publocc:

“...interpreting daily death tolls can be tricky.

The figure represents what health authorities report on any given day, not when people actually die. So while the total appeared to dip in the days after Thanksgiving, for example, that most likely meant those doing the tallying had time off, not that fewer people were dying.”

Good night.
