35 TX 20 OU

After the Rattler fumble and TX TD OU put a new QB in. Caleb Williams drove ‘em down to the TX 18 on 4th down and six. I was afraid Lincoln Riley was going to get frustrated and pull a Fourth Down Franklin and go for it. He didn’t. Took the peep to make it a two score game agin’.

I read a little while ago that Rattler has been shaky this year. And he was here. I assume that’s why Riley subbed him and not for injury.

Now, what are the implications of this game? Certainly if UT wins they will move up and OU will drop, how far will depend on how bad the score is. But to a great extent this game looks to voters like an old WAC shoot-out, i.e. not serious football, and will be discounted some. This is especially true if OU comes back to win. Voters are already disgusted with “Sooner” close calls. A playoff caliber team does not fall behind 28-7 after one quarter. I doubt Oklahoma would rise a single spot if they were to win. Not a good look at all by Oklahoma; they haven't looked good all year.
