I asked my son who knows everything and he said, “Shit. Good question. I knew the answer. Communication, I think.” I was replying “Oh! Okay that makes…” when he texted me again. “No, commercial, I just looked it up.” It actually never occurred to me that you could look that up. It’s like “Why is God named God?” That sucks as a name—com, not God. “Commercial”?  I thought at first my son meant like “advert.” No, like “business.” Doesn’t that blow? “Hey what com are you in?” What?! Who says “I’m in the steel com?” I thought “computer”. “Com,” what a stupid abbreviation for business.
