KD: Brooklyn “Undisciplined”

"We put them in the bonus early every quarter; 37-14 [difference in] free throw makes. And it's not 'cause of the refs, it was because we're reaching and being undisciplined and just playing too aggressive. That's the game. They shot 42% from the field which is great defense, 31[%] from the 3. They outrebounded us by two, and one more assist than us ... it's just fouls. And we can't do that if we want to be a winning team."

I too looked at the major categories in the box score and couldn’t understand how Brooklyn had lost. Then I read the AP write-up which mentioned the foul disparity. A less brutally honest player would have ripped the zebras post-game and gotten fined. But KD doesn't traffic in bullshit. Durant's running mate was the most undisciplined. Kyrie Irving had five of those fouls. He has not shot well since being back full time but last night he was extraordinarily undisciplined. He took 34 shots from all distances. He made 12 of them, 37.5%. He scored 31 points on 34 shots, never got to the foul line even once. Durant scored his 55 on 28 shots, making 19, 67.8%; he was an astounding 8/10 on threes; went to the line 11 times sinking 9 of the freebies.

Kyrie Irving is the culprit in this loss. He is a selfish person generally and is dull mentally. Last night his selfishness and obliviousness cost the team a loss.
