Didn't expect that. They booed the "Sixers" off the court at the end of the first half. Joel Embiid is playing injured, he has a torn ligament in his hand (so there was never going to be an "Embiid time" last night) but the write-ups by those who saw the game describe a strangely lethargic team seemingly carrying the weight of the world on their soldiers. It seems maybe the players but certainly fans and observers are haunted: I didn't know that Doc Rivers-coached teams have thrice blown 3-1 game leads in playoff series. Once with Orlando in 2003 (I had no recollection of Doc ever coaching the "Magic") and twice with LAC when Rivers was coach out there.
Now if Philadelphia blows this series (and I do predict that the "Raptors" will win game 6 in Toronto) it will be a first: Philly had a 3-0 lead on Toronto in this series! No team in the history of the Association has ever blown a 3-0 lead.
Last night's game put doubt in a lot of people's minds, including that of the undersigned, about the quality of these "Sixers" and with Embiid unable to play hero ball there is reason to the phroth.
