Those in the procession swayed slightly to left and right with each step creating a fluttering visual (heart valves opening and closing?) Along the procession route black-uniformed guards stood with heads bowed, a protocol that I first saw around the bier as Sir Winston Churchill lay in state. It is a very moving practice. The funeral was impressive to the n-th degree.
