Gonna Miss Another One

There's a hurricane in the Caribbean, it's blasting American Puerto Rico right now. But it's not coming anywhere near the Atlantic seaboard of the continental U.S.: that means Florida up through the Carolinas. Gonna dodge another one.

It's getting late in the season. September is peak hurricane month in the eastern Atlantic and August is next most active. August is gone and September more than half so.

October is a close third to August so Florida is not in the clear yet, not by a long shot, but we have come through one and a half of the most active two months with nary a zephyr and unusually little rain.
