Pitt's remaining tackle football schedule is challenging. Next Saturday we are home to California, a good team. We will be favored and should win on a lonely field beyond Fort Pitt.
On Oct. 24 Syracuse, who just beat UNLV (25) in Vegas comes to Pittsburgh. That should be win no. 7.
Then it gets dicier. The "Panthers" go to Dallas to play new Airplane Conference member Smoo. The Ponies destroyed Half Ass Eww in D and last night upset no. 22 Leww in some Kentucky credit union, formerly a pizza joint. No, not a great home field advantage, but Leww was ranked and are a favorite pizza topping with alum Jeff Brohm as local store manager. Pitt will probably be slight underdogs.
Nov. 9 home to Ginny. The Hoos have won at Wake and yesterday, their most impressive W to me, beat a good Boston College team in Naziville. Impossible to predict a line four games out. If the chalk sticks to the blackboard I'd guess the "Panthers" will be slight favorites.
I foresee us being 8-1 entering our final three games but we will probably lose all three: H to IPTAY, who have been playing like vengeful destroyers, at the aforementioned Leww, and at BC, both of whom, like us, will be playing for bowl slotting. I'll take 8-4 right now, today, and every remaining day.
