This is a first

An author of five books who can't write but whose story ideas are so great that three of the books are made into major motion pictures.

Such is the case of Joe David Brown, author of Stars in My Crown (1947, made into movie), The Freeholder (1949), Kings Go Forth (1956, movie), Glimpse of a Stranger (1968), and Addie Pray (1971, Paper Moon).

Addie Pray was the last on my to do list in researching the extraordinary Paper Moon. Why last? Because  I didn't want two takes, the film's and the book's, I wanted just one, the film's. I got the book yesterday.

No chance of dissonance. The book is boring.
