Trump Wins

On May 5, five Indiana Republicans who voted against Trump's gerrymander lost their primaries against Trump-backed opponents. One incumbent who faced a Trump primary survived while a seventh leads by three votes and faces a recount.

On May 16, GOP incumbent U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, who voted to convict Trump in his second (Jan. 2-related) trial in the Senate, finished third in Louisiana to Trump-backed primary challengers.

Today, GOP Rep. Thomas Massie (Kentucky), who broke with Trump over the Epstein files release, is expected to lose his primary to a Trump-backed challenger.

And in Texas, also today, Trump endorsed state Attorney General Jim Paxton in his primary challenge to Sen. John Cornyn. Trump's blessing should be enough to put Paxton over the top in the May 26 GOP primary.
