USMLE Today

We're on "second pass", timed tranches of 20 questions that mimic in a mini way the actual test. I had one of my "best" days--45%! ?? Real med. students shoot for 65% right answers to give some cushion above the 60% needed to pass the test.  When we were on "first pass" (untimed) I wrote here that if I took the actual USMLE I would do a little better than random. Random in the standard five-choice question would be 20%. I estimated that I would get 25%-30% right answers. You know what my fucking % right answers is through twenty sessions of twenty questions? Fucking 27.5%. I was RIGHT that I would be so WRONG!
