Trees, Forests.

Another example of this with Mitt Romney: why won't he release a critical mass of his tax returns?  I do not believe that Romney is hiding anything wrong. I think he is too good a man for that, too proper and by-the-book. So, if that is true, then why?  Doesn't he see that he--he-- has allowed this to become a political issue that is hurting him?  He has to see that, right?  Many Republicans have urged him to release his tax returns. Romney gave John McCain something like 20 years of his tax returns when he was being considered for the vice presidential nomination in 2008. So why won't Romney release them now that he's being considered for president?  It's just dumb politics. And McCain has said there was nothing in them that would disqualify Romney from the presidency. So then not releasing say, ten years, of his tax returns makes people, people like me, think he is hiding something damaging. Maybe McCain was being literal: nothing "disqualifying."  Maybe there is something in Romney's tax returns that is "damaging" but not disqualifying.  Romney has people like me thinking like this now. And I believe, I don't know, it is unnecessary, that it's just Romney being Romney. Mitt "can't-see-the-forest-for-the-trees" Romney.
