I cannot stop staring at that. The blue...I've never seen blue that vivid. It is so bright and deep at the same time, it shimmers or pulsates and I'm not drinking. The only other time I had this mesmerizing experience with color was with some of Mark Rothko's paintings and I wasn't drinking then either.

I am captivated. The first photographs of the "whole earth" taken from space affected some people in a similar way. But they were high. The Whole Earth Catalog, that's where the name comes from. That guy was high. Those first images of earth didn't move me the way Captain Kelly's do but I was not high when I first saw them. I am not high now. Or drunk. Captivated, that's what I am.
