Continuing our popular series "Body Language of the Rich and Powerful," I saw these when £ was making his Decision II. I was looking for a photo that showed the two (Miami "Heat" owner Micky Arison) celebrating, laughing, smiling together. Was gonna put it on the header. "Why would he leave Miami and Micky Arison for Cleveland and Dan Fucking Gilbert again?!" Didn't find such a one. Found these instead.

In comparing photos of the 2012 and 2013 championships, I believe these are from 2012. I don't know the order. I have put them in the order most sensible to me. Here coming together to embrace.

Here embracing. Look at the contrast in facial expressions.

Arison's smile disappears as he realizes £ isn't smiling back.

Those are excruciating. I felt sorry for Micky Arison. They were so embarrassing I didn't put republish any of them. You read that what irked £ about Arison was the amnestying of Mike Miller and that other guy, but Miller especially, but that didn't happen until July, 2013. These photos were taken before that, and at a championship celebration! Whether in 2013 or, as I believe, in 2012, £ clearly did not have good feelings toward Arison before the amnestying. I believe, I don't know, that this was deliberate on £'s part, that is, that £ deliberately did not smile, knowing that the images were going to be seen around the world. Putting it in reverse I do not believe that these were reflexive on £'s part, that the moments happened so quickly that he couldn't help himself, his "true" feelings came out unconsciously. Those were his true feelings but £ is too aware, he knows that every camera is going to be pointed at him wherever he is, he's known that since 8th grade, he is seldom, if ever, caught unaware. No, I believe these were deliberate, that £ was sending a message. And everyone missed it, his decision to leave Miami shocked, Micky Arison's own word, shocked everyone. What was £'s problem with Arison? Whatever the problem or problems were Micky Arison did not deserve this coldness at a time of public celebration.
