The Canada thing is going to stay with Cruz. Beside the eligibility issue, there is this: Cruz held joint citizenship until June, 2014. That bothers people apart from eligibility. You're running for president of the United States, Pilgrim...But if you lose you could always run for Prime Minister of Canada? No. That bothers people.
Cruz also said that he had only known that he was also a citizen of Canada since the Fall of 2013.
?
Really? That bothers people. How do you not know? Did you know you were born outside Calgary? Any idgit knows he is a citizen of his birth country. You're a Harvard-trained lawyer and you were a citizen of Canada until 2013? They let idgits into Harvard? C'mon, man, that's just bullshit.
Everybody knows Cruz was born in Canada, but he had no choice over where he was born, you know what I mean? I had a girlfriend who lived in France but whose mother deliberately went to England for the birth so that her daughter would have English citizenship, too. Not my gf's fault...or credit! Got that. Maybe most people know Cruz also lived in Canada his first four years. Okay...ooh, squirm, you didn't have any more say over that then when you were in uteror but you do get, Cruz, that the longer you live in a foreign country, whether by choice or by happenstance, the more that is going to bother people, right?
I bet most people, including the undersigned idgit, did not know this, from Wikipedia:
Ted Cruz was born on December 22, 1970,[3][4] at Foothills Provincial General Hospital[5][6] in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to parents Eleanor Elizabeth (Darragh) Wilson and Rafael Bienvenido Cruz.[7][8][9] At the time of his birth, Cruz's parents had lived in Calgary for three years and were working in the oil business as owners of a seismic-data processing firm for oil drilling.[8][10][11][12][13] Cruz has said, “I’m the son of two mathematicians/computer programmers.”[14] The family lived in Calgary's St. Andrews Heights neighborhood and later the affluent Elbow Park neighborhood[5] until his father suddenly abandoned the family and moved to Texas in 1974.[15] Cruz and his mother moved into a townhouse complex in the southeast suburbs of Calgary and later in 1974 Cruz's father, who had joined a Baptist Bible study, reconciled with Cruz's mother and the family relocated to Houston.[5]
Cruz also said that he had only known that he was also a citizen of Canada since the Fall of 2013.

Now, that's different. My ex-girlfriend is an accidental Englishwoman by birth, never lived in Merry Old; her heart was where she spent her first, from memory, ten years, in France. Then her father retired and the family, her mother was American-born also, just as was Cruz', moved to the United States. She is also a lawyer and damn well knows she's a citizen of Great Britain, France and the United States! But she was on law review, maybe Cruz wasn't on law review.
Ted Cruz is even more an accidental American than Madeline is an accidental Englishwoman. HIS FATHER ABANDONED THE FAMILY IN CANADA. Mom, who was American-born, CONTINUED TO LIVE IN CANADA. Only when Dad found Jesus in Texas-What are the odds?- and reconciled with Mom did Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz come to the U.S. in Mom's tow. If Rafael Bienvenido Cruz had not "joined a Baptist Bible study," there is every indication in Wikipedia that Ted would to this very day be attending the annual Stampede.
So, yeah that is different. That bothers some people, the undersigned idgit included. Clearly, Cruz knew he held dual citizenship with Canada, and that he didn't renounce it until called on it by the Dallas Morning-News in August, 2013 is going to disqualify him from being the choice of some for president if he is legally eligible.
