We are not friends, but enemies. We must not be friends. Though dispassion and pragmatism may have weakened they must not break our animosity. The clashing chords of history, stretching from battlefield and grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over our two broad lands, will yet swell the macabre chorus, when again touched, as surely they will be, by our true natures.
