I love the NBA. Always have. Been watching since I was a kid. These old NBA game of the week theme songs bring back so many memories. And they're great little tunes in their own right. The oldest one, immediately below, is from ABC's telecasts in 1972/3:
"Come on and take time out,
Put on a smile.
Get into something you can enJOY!
Sit back and do something nice for yourself,
Sharing the feeling with somebody else,
Time out,
For the NBA Game of the Week."
"They're on the floor
And they're ready to score
So let the game begin,
And let's see how the ball's going to bounce today
You'll see the BEST in basketball,
When you watch the NBA,
When you watch the NBA on CBS!"
