Biden Says Russia Should Be Ejected From G20

Moscow has already been shattering decades of ties with the west
[and]
removal of Russia from the G20 would be a potent symbolic step that would deny Russia a seat at the table with the world’s largest economies

Interesting take! Not NATO has "surrounded" or isolated Russia but Russia, with never a threat from NATO has made it an enemy and isolated herself! And it's true, the Russian Federation has been pulling away from the West its entire history. Democracy--the cornerstone value of the West and one of two sine qua non conditions for NATO membership--Russia has never had fair, transparent elections and under Putin elections are a complete sham. Now he and Xi Jinping are positively anti-democratic. Respect for sovereignty, anti-militarism--nyet. They invade Georgia, Chechnya, Ukraine, they use chemical weapons on Syria, in assassinations in Britain and other countries in violation of international law--Why should Russia be part of the G20. Question: What about China? Those same criteria apply to
China, no? Not the respect for sovereignty. China has never been, in its 3,000 year history, aggressive militarily.

Zelensky...appeared via video link at the closed-door NATO meeting that started the day and made another urgent plea for help. “I am sure you already understand that Russia does not intend to stop in Ukraine,” he said, according to a transcript of his remarks released by the Ukrainian government. “Does not intend and will not. It wants to go further.”

That is also the state of belief in Washington. "Putin wants to roll back NATO," President Biden has said.

Concern is rising among Western leaders that Mr. Putin may turn to unconventional weapons as its advance in Ukraine falters. NATO allies agreed on Thursday to provide the country with equipment and training to deal with the fallout from any possible Russian use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons, and NATO said it was increasing its own preparedness for such an event.

Those are defensive aids, nothing wrong with them.

I have experienced a partial gestalt switch on NATO and Russia. It could be, I don't know for sure, that President Clinton steered Yeltsin and Putin away from membership in NATO and toward the Partnership for Peace, because Russia has only had two democratic elections for president, 1996 and 2000, and maybe, again I don't know for sure, because Russia was not willing to work within the NATO military frame. However that may be it is fact that Russia has not had a democratic election since 2000, it has invaded other countries, and NATO has never invaded Russia. So I have gone from seeing the glass half empty to seeing it half full.
