What if Trumpie was bullshitting?

This is thinking like an honest prosecutor.

What if Trumpie was bragging about having seen something that never existed? What if he was waving around a document about something else entirely, claiming it was the Gen. Milley memo, the equivalent of Joe McCarthy's claim that “I hold in my hand” a list of State Department employees who were "card-carrying members of the Communist Party"?

We know Trumpie was wrong, intentionally or mistakenly, about Gen. Milley being the of the memo. A document that substantively matches what Trumpie was bragging that he had was written by another military guy. What if he had that document? If it was classified then that is still a big problem for him. Did Smith’s office find that document in Trumpie’s possession? I don’t know the answer to that. Related: Does that other document exist?

Jack Smith's office subpoened all documents in Trumpie's possession re "Milley Iran". They got nothing. Milley didn't author any such memo. What if that's the reason Smith's office didn't get it. Trumpie's lawyers searched for anything "Milley Iran." They found nothing. Maybe...repeat, rinse.

We can’t conclude that Trumpie has or had the document he described on tape because: 1) That requires us to believe that Trumpie tells the truth. 2) Apparently there is no “Milley Iran” document, ergo there is no physical corroboration of Trumpie’s claim.

Smith’s prosecutors know the answers to some, maybe all, of my queries, or maybe not! What we have in sifting the wheat from the chaff is Trumpie on tape acknowledging that he knows the difference between classified and unclassified material and ruefully admitting he should have declassified some things. That in itself, even without more, establishes scienter, the guilty mind, and that is huge.
