I did a post on this topic but didn't cover this detail. There are just soo many details in this movie. This one is on casting.
Now look at this.
Are you kidding me? This is the second widow business scene. A "poorly" widow and her six children. Look at the widow's face. Now look at the faces of the visible children. They are identical. All blonde, all pinched faces and pointy noses, identical to their mother. The casting director worked overtime to get child actors who looked exactly like their mother for this scene. It is incomparable attention to detail. And to state the obvious, looks inheritance is imperfect. Tatum and Ryan O'Neal were real-life father-daughter and besides being blonde, I don't think they looked particularly alike.
There is one other detail, snips of which I made several days ago, but they didn't turn out well on my computer. I am going to try with my iPhone to see if I can get the detail clearer.
There was a lot of amazing work done in this film. It is a masterpiece.
