Inflated Pork Bellies Futures Investing* #

I am going to follow a broad sports investing rule of thumb: Go with the home dog. I am going to act in accordance with this rule in one of my remaining "toss-up" (reverting to the political agayne) games.

I am going to put a nickel on Cal getting 10 points at home against Miami Gardens.

I am not, at this time, adhering to the same conventional investing adage in the FU-UCF contest. 2.5 is too meager for me, right now, to risk five. #Updated; Hard pass. Will not play.

I am also still undecided this morning on Neb. giving 7 to Ruptures. Home favorite there, not dog. Ain't no adage for that one. *Updated: The line has fallen to -6.5. Only half a point but confirming my view that 7 was too much. I am passing on the game.

So, my bets are: $5 on Duke getting 9 at GaT; $5 on BC getting 1 at UVA; and $5 on Cal losing by 9 or less (or winning) at home to Miami Gardens. That's a diversified portfolio that spreads my risk out and doesn't jeopardize all of my $30 winnings to date. Even if I lost all three I'd still be up $15 on the season at near the half-way point.
