Father of Umpqua college shooting victim: Gunman singled out Christians-CNN

There are NO reports that Mercer was of a religion other than Christianity, the motive, at this confusing stage, seems to be that he had a dislike for all organized religion. But then why would he ask the victims if they were of one specific religion and not, "Are you religious?"
