The players do not have a union, I guess. If they do their union BLOWS. It's too much. So many matches, so little time. Every Football Association club plays in three separate competitions simultaneously. The better you are, the further you go in the cup competitions and the more matches you have to play. For the top six teams in the EPL there are the two pan-European competitions, Europa League and Champions League, on top of that. That's four. And, in them too, the better you are the more you play.
And then there are the god...blessed international "breaks" where players goes off and play for their countries. No break a'tall from playing.
Did I miss any? I think that's it. That's more than enough. More than is reasonable. More than the human body should have to do.
