Oh my God, I hadn't thought of that...Crystal Palace is the team that humiliated Liverpool in 2014. Liverpool was up 3-0 and they tried to run up the score on Palace in a vain stab at overtaking City in the title race--the year of the Gerrard Slip--and instead became humiliatee instead of humiliator. Palace scored three goals in 11 minutes at Selhurst Park to get a draw.
Liverpool led City for the title by six points and had three matches to play but City had a game in hand and were, even at -6 points, were +4 in goal difference. Then the Gerrard Slip cut the points lead to three. Then City won it's extra game 4-0 to go level on points and +8 in goal GD. City then won at Everton to take a two point, 12 goal lead in the title race. So Liverpool tried to beat Crystal Palace 13-0. There is a price for vanity and its name is humiliation.
So. Crystal Palace gives Liverpukes a tic and I bet there was some retching going on in Fenway this afternoon don't know but betcha.
