Just another orange peel on the road to the OB! “Panthers” get the W on the road and move to 5-2.
Kenny Pickett had another solid game passing with two TD’s and no INTS and the “Panthers” found a running game! A.J. Davis had 103 yards and a TD and averaged 6.4 yards per lug! And the Pitt D played swarming and mean. That is the attitude of this defense, they are going to make you wince.
Pretty typical Pitt game this season. Big lead, Syracuse was booed off the field at the half, tightish win. Outscored 14-3 in the second half. Do the coaches not keep them fired up? At 24-6 at the half, a 48-12 win and PITT IS BACK! would have blown up. A blowout win and they would have been on the cusp of the top 25. They had no points in the voting this week, two last week and six the week before. At 5-2 with two straight wins on the road, one 33-30, 27-20 tonight, they’ll have...a dozen maybe? Somebody’s got to get through to these kids that they have to finish strongly, they have to pass the eye test.
“Panthers” have one of those underachieving four star teams, Miami Gardens, at Heinz next Saturday for homecoming. Pitt needs to win that game. But enough. Too much.
