Soccerday

Pep said in the run-up to the Arsenal match in London this week that yes, a 10 point lead is alot, but there are still 42  points available to be had and if City dropped two of the remaining fourteen matches (and if United won their corresponding two) the lead would be only four with twelve matches left, wouldn’t it, and you carpal tunnel wretches would not be torturing me with questions about a “procession.” True enough.

Today is one of those days. City, of course, can lose at Arsenal, or draw, and United will likely win a far easier match against Newcastle at Old Trafford. Pep vs Mikel, master vs understudy. Piers Morgan, too. Thus today is as big a soccerday as we can have under the circumstances. However, today will not change the shape of the race for City will win and United will win and the gap will remain ten with thirteen matches left.
