Cohen Redirect on The Moment

Cohen was not lying. He really believed that he told Trumpie that the Storm matter had been finalized in that phone call on Oct. 24, 2016. It wasn't until That Moment on cross when Blanche showed him the text messages and call logs before and after 8:02 that he realized that he likely was mistaken. He immediately realized it. That's why he didn't reassert categorically that the phone call was to notify Trumpie. He said "I believe". Blanche jumped in his pfoof, "The jury's not interested in what you believe!", Blanche thundered. In making an assertion all we as human beings have to go on is our good faith belief in the assertion's truthfulness. Michael Cohen could have passed a lie detector test that he notified Trumpie in that phone call. on that the call was "potentially" about more than the 14-year old's harassment. But once Blanche showed him the texts, Cohen backed off being categorical. That was the truth. Cohen was being truthful that now he was uncertain. It was not a lie. None of his answers on that walk-off topic were knowing falsehoods. He was being completely honest. "You can admit it", Blanche thundered at him, it was a lie. No, it wasn't. "It was potentially more" than the 14-year old's harassment and potentially (likely) not. But it was not a lie.
