Silence Has an Echo

Experienced trial lawyers who I really respect differ surprisingly on what the prosecution should do about the mic drop moment in their redirect of Michael Cohen. George Conway said the D.A.'s office will "clean it up" eazy peazy. Ty Cobb said if it was him he'd let it go. Cobb knows, George knows, I know, everybody knows that the prosecution will do a redirect examination. However, if Cobb wouldn't touch the moment where the prosecution may well have lost their case, then my question to Cobb would be, "Why bother to do redirect at all?" It is a given that they will redirect him, and if they don't ask about that phone call they will emphasize and reinforce it.
