Blanche seeks to start scolding the witness on behalf of the jurors, saying, “This jury doesn’t want to hear what you think happened.” There is an objection and it is sustained.
In my personal experience this is extremely effective. A colleague observing me in trial once said that I was like "a seventh juror". A really good trial lawyer will try to think like lay jurors: "What would they want to know?" That's what Blanche is doing here. Even though one objection was sustained, jurors appreciate that and they come to identify with the lawyer who is anticipating them, thinking like they are.
