Will a Mountain of Evidence Be Enough to Convict Trump?
That was the New York Times, April 21. I first mocked them for that on April 26.
What say ye now, Quasis?π
You guys know me. "Often wrong, always certain". I have zero instinct for self-preservation in what I write. Oblivious to credibility, devoid of pride. Shame too. I lead with my chin no matter how many times I get my block knocked off.
There is going to be a not guilty verdict and I’m prepared, meaning I don’t care of the abuse coming my way if it goes the other way. I can sense it in the hushed tones of some, in the faux bravado of others, in the Imodium flying off the shelves in the nation’s drug stores: People are fucking freaking out tonight. I’m telling you, people are going to melt down worse than they—including me!—did over the Catastrophe on 11/8/16 when this not guilty verdict is read.
My bro George Conway, knowing the above (but not directly admitting to knowing it), has taken tonight to taunting Trumpie into testifying. George knows in his lawyer's heart of hearts that the only way this case can be salvaged now is with a deus ex machina. George knows you don’t put your client on if you rationally think you already have reasonable doubt! A criminal trial is not an Olympic sport, you don’t get style points. Putting your client on, especially if Donald Trump is your client, is a Hail Mary play when you rationally believe you’re going down. Trump is a fool. But it says here Trump is not that big a fool that he would insist on testifying. He knows how much George—and I!—hate him. He will not be goaded by George into testifying. And he will win.
