Banks of the Ohio.

Is described, accurately, by one site as a "pretty gruesome" 19th century ballad. It is mournful with a slow, deliberate, repetitive rhythm, almost like a beating heart, perfect for the scene in Paper Moon where it is performed by The Blue Sky Boys in 1927. (Incomprehensibly, it was also recorded by Olivia Newton John).
