100k! How many people attend a Biden rally, 100?
WILDWOOD, New Jersey -- Wildwood became a hot spot on Saturday as local officials said nearly 100,000 people packed the beach to get a glimpse of former President Donald Trump.
###
Lisa Fagan, spokesperson for the city of Wildwood, told The Associated Press that she estimated a crowd of between 80,000 and 100,000 attendees, based off her own observations on the scene Saturday, having seen “dozens” of other events in the same space.
It was real!
"If some of these wackos came along, you know, these liberal singers, they'd actually vote for me. You know, like Bruce Springsteen. We have a much bigger crowd than Bruce Springsteen. Right?" --Trump.
Bigger than the Boss! Who's the real Boss! "Claimed". Maybe, maybe not. Claim: "I had a bigger crowd at my inauguration than Obama!" Not.
"If this was a REAL crowd of my fellow New Jerseyans, and not a bunch of brainwashed posers, there is NO chance they would have allowed this Bruce slander to stand," one X user commented.
"REAL" Hmm. Were not all these people New Jersyeans?
Trump has long based his confidence of electoral victory on the size of his crowds. But he has never come close to winning the popular vote in a general election. How to explain this?
Surrounded by roller coasters and amusement park thrills along a boardwalk in Wildwood...
Ah, yes! Roller coasters and amusement parks. Very popular summer "hot spot" with families. With kids. I remember Wildwood. I've been to Wildwood on vacation with my parents. I was a kid. I couldn't vote. I was from Pennsylvania. I couldn't vote in New Jersey if I had been an adult. Very popular summer vacation "hot spot" in the Northeast. Came all the way from Western Pa., we did. Were there kids at this rally? Dunno, but betcha some.
It’s also an area that attracts residents — and media attention — from the battleground state of Pennsylvania and it is a quick trip from New York...
Yeah.
"Beach". Closest beach, I guess, I don't really remember. But it was the beach that everyone in the region went to in the summer. "Saturday". Yeah, weekend! Can't go on Tuesdays, got to manage the trailer park.
"I love these Saturday evenings. Is there anything better than a Trump rally?"--Trump himself.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Mother's Day weekend Saturday. Hmm. Have to be kids there.
“This is my 52nd rally. So we go to a lot of them. We're part of the front row Joe's," said Sharon Anderson of Etowah, Tennessee at the front of the line.
Oh! NOT New Jersey.
They paper the house. It wasn't real. The New York Times' Southern reporter had a piece on this months ago: Normal people miss the "fun" that the lowlifes have at these rallies. The rallies are lowlife big bubbles. Inside the bubbles you can say the N-word and be asleep instead of Woke, anything you want! "Hate", the NYT South guy's word, till your heart's content!
Trump rallies are like Grateful Dead concerts. If you're a fanatic, you follow the band wherever they go. Sharon came all the way from Etowah, Tennessee! It was her 52nd rally! It is the same people who show up again and again and again. But they can only vote once. Sharon cannot vote in Jersey, only in Tennessee.
So Trump, and his campaign, get the dangerous (for them) illusion of 100,000 New Jerseyans attending a single rally for him in the state and they decide, "We can win New Jersey!"
Trump's rally was held in Wildwood, New Jersey, though there’s no indication that the state is in play. In 2020, Biden garnered 57.1% of the vote to Trump's 41.3%. Trump...lost the...state by a similar margin in 2016 to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
During remarks that lasted nearly 90 minutes, Trump said his campaign is "going to officially play in the state of New Jersey."
So, I'm all for nourishing and nurturing and encouraging more of these rallies and encouraging Trump in devoting campaign resources to Jersey. I'm totally down with encouraging this illusion. I want more Trump weekend beach rallies. I want a big Trump rally on the 4th of July on California's beaches! I'm for Trump "to officially play" in California, too!
“So, no matter where the Trump team decides they want to spend their time, the fact of the matter is...they do not have the infrastructure to reach the voters who are going to decide this election.”--Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler
Yeah. Paper house. Potemkin village. Biden will win.
