China, Power.


Ya Weilin and Zhang Zhengia hold a photograph of their son, killed in the Tiananmen massacre. On May 28 Mr. Ya hanged himself in protest of the Chinese government's refusal to explain how his son was killed.

Below, a Tibetan nun's self-immolation in protest to Chinese occupation of her country.

Why do Chinese and Tibetans kill themselves in protest of China?  Why don't they attack instead?
