Paul Krugman offers that as an explanation for why people blame the president and not Congress for the economy. I think he's right. I cannot remember an occasion when Obama has called out the Republicans, not during the debt ceiling crisis, not over the jobs bill. I'm sure he has but it did not sink into my Pennsylvanian brain nor into the brains of a lot of others. I remember he went golfing with Speaker Boehner to try to buddy up to him during the debt crisis. That didn't work. There are better uses for a golf club in politics.
