Manchester United hammered the hammerheads of West Ham United today in the most convincing result of the first week, 4-0, at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur spoiled the return to the league of Newcastle United, Iain Macintosh's predicted eight-place finishers, 2-0, and did so at St. James Park.
