They don’t have the talent. .500 talent means they’re unpredictable. It is irresistible to see a team on a five game win streak to think that a corner has been turned. But I have to remember that this is a team of rejects and defects, the aged and the callow, of those unwanted elsewhere, of mediocre talent one through 15 on the roster. They will hover around .500 all year, home in on it when they stray too far, settle there at the end. That is just who they are.
