Mike Tomlin lost that football game for Pittsburgh. The "Steelers" players were heroic, heroic, for the second game in a row and then...That was Fourth-And-Five Franklin dumb. On the road, needing a win, fourth and five at their own 42, over four minutes left to play. The "Steelers" defense played so heroically, they would have stopped New Orleans on a long field. You punt the ball, even if it goes into the end zone, the "Saints" have to go eighty yards. Plenty of time to do that but against this defense, today? Nah-ah. And with some likelihood Pittsburgh would have downed the ball inside the 10. Say, 95 yards to go. And it would have been 80 or 90 or 95 yards that they would have had to go: they had to score a touchdown. But Nooo! Take-a-Hike Mike calls a fake. The fullback is stopped one yard short. Now New Orleans has to go 46 yards in four minutes. That's an age of time; that's a terribly short field, and New Orleans is a damn good team. Not the "Aints," not the "Browns," a 12-2 team. The Pittsburgh defense was stout on that last drive. They made NO fight and bleed for every damn yard, but come on man, you give a good team a short field with plenty of time to win the ball game, that's what they're gonna do. New Orleans won the game but Mike Tomlin lost it for Pittsburgh.
