I understand Louis CK better now. The recently released tapes of him using the n-word around Chris Rock, asking Chris at one point, "Are you calling me a nigger?": It thrills Louis to be personally offensive right to the person's face, in the interests of comedy. If he can get a laugh then, well...It thrilled him to ask permission to masturbate in front of women. If I can get away with that...You can make fun of everything I heard him say with Chris, Ricky Gervais, and Jerry Seinfeld. A lot of good comedy thrills to be offensive. The audience thrills to it, too. "It's all part of the act!"
I don't know who Louis CK is. If it's all part of the act then how do we ever know who the comedian really is? If it's all an act then his statement, "Of course, a child dying of allergy to peanuts is a tragedy, of course." is just part of the act, too. Maybe he really doesn't give a shit. Maybe that was just the set up line for the joke. Maybe he is a racist and was just using Chris Rock as his straight man.
No, wearing a clown's mask does not give you license to do everything.
