The Big Picture changes hardly at all from game to game. This three year era is almost over with a whimper, a joyless season just about done. Miami remains 10th in the Least, one game behind a playoff spot with 20 to go. But give the Whimpers a blow. They have played well three games in a row, beating Golden State, taking Houston We Have a Beard to the wire, and tonight, never trailing, nyet-ing the Brooklyn "Nets." The "Nets" you say. N-E-T-S! SUCK! SUCK! SUCK!. Ah! Pilgrim, this is not your grandfather's New York/Brooklyn "Nets" (it certainly isn't your grandfather's "Heat"). But, you can look it up, Brooklyn is sixth in the Least, 2.5 games ahead of Miami, with, coincidentally, a better record, now 32-33 to Miami's 28-34. And the game was played in Miami where, coincidentally, the "Heat" SUCK! SUCK! SUCK! Yet tonight Miami never trailed, never were challenged and cut down the "Nets" and shit on them. The final score was 117-88, the 29 point margin the largest (victory variation) of the season and it wasn't the usual suspects. It was the unusual suspects. Kelly Olynyk was 25, 6, 4, 1, and 2. He led all scorers. Bam Bam, Bam, Bam! Bam! Bam! was 9, 16, 6, 0, 2. Rodney McGruder was 17, 6, 2, 2, and Derrick Jones, Jr. had 18 and 4 'bounds. Not the usual suspects a'tall. As for the usuals: Dion was ineffective shooting 7 (2/10, 1/5) but contributed in other non-Dion ways with 8 boards and 7 assists. D-Wade had only 9 (4/12, 1/3). JJ and the Dragon were out with injuries and YoungWhiteside, I don't know did we trade him? Whiteside isn't even listed as a player available. Don't know what his status is; missed a memo I guess. Even Udonis Haslem played :o 4 minutes. Udonis, DO NOT COME BACK! GO THE FUCK AWAY!
Miami has two wins in their last three (which is decidedly not the Big Picture); they are still 3-7 in their last 10, an oh so slightly bigger and worser picture, 28-34 as I mentioned in a big picture and at top in The Big Picture. They are 2.5 games from sixth, which is just how little the Least is. They are closer to 6th than to 11th. So, could Team Whimper make the 'Loffs? Well, duh, Pilgrim, what is you an idjit? Off the last three, off The Big Picture, you would expect them to revert closer to their mean of about .500. Hell, they're pretty close now, .493. They'd have to go 13-7 over their remaining 20 to finish The Year of the Whimper at .500. Don't think they can do that. No idea what their schedule over those 20 is, but with this team, does it matter? They're not afraid of the "Warriors," they're scared shitless by the "Hawks," "Bulls," and like ilk. 10-10 is, in a total vacuum of info, the best I expect them to do, 38-44 for the season. Prolly not enough for the 'Loffs, which suits every Heat-ist outside 601 Biscayne Blvd just fine.
