Black Americans built this country. They have always been the moral voice in this immoral land. I, a white man, thank you for saving this country and celebrate with you the end of slavery in 1865. Demonstrably, manifestly, you are the best and the brightest in America. Why you love this country I am incapable of understanding. Why you treat white people like me with friendship, I don't know.
