Cases
The Times attached no asterisk to their numbers last night which were reprinted here with cruelly snatched glee this morning. Tonight the Times has:
161,327 average daily cases from Aug. 30 through Sept. 5, NYT. The change over two weeks from Sept. 7 is "FLAT".
163,729 " " " " Aug. 30 through Sept. 5, JHU.
138,911 " " " " Aug. 30 through Sept. 5, CDC.
CDC is the outlier in this time frame.
Gettin' too late Bees and Gees and I'm fadin' fast. We'll pick up deaths manana.
Deaths
1,552 Aug. 30 through Sept. 5, NYT
1,541 JHU
1,051 CDC
CDC again the outlier, this time by -48%. Never understood the disparity. Still don't. If, e.g. CDC knows its data is incomplete, why, oh why do they publish it on their website? They are the OFFICIAL!
