Had
A
Triple-Double
Tonight. 🥳👏🏻
36’ played, 20 pts on 8/11 (3/5), 12 rebounds (he’s my height), and 10 asts. Goodness gracious Kyle Lowry, Welcome to Miami, Bienvenidos a Miami.
Duncan only played 23’, ceding his time to Tyler and finished with the same point total he had at HT, 3 pts, on 1/5 (1/5). Tyler by contrast played 34”, scored 29 pts on 11-18 (6/8). He was team high. Kyle was team high in REBOUNDS and asts.
The “Heat” shot 60.3% (52.4). Those. Are. NOT. Sustainable. But they did it for one night. It was barely enough. They played no defense as a team statistically. Utah shot 51.8% but the “Jazz” were off key from range, only 33.3%, and that cost them the game.
Whether a double-double is sustainable by Kyle we will see but it is clear to me that Duncan Robinson is not sustainable as a starter for Eric Spoelstra and if tonight’s minutes distribution is an indication of Spo’s thinking, Tyler will move into the starting lineup and Duncan will be sixth man on the bench. This is due, not overdue, not knee-jerk, now is the time. Duncan’s had long enough and the contrast with Tyler is stark and should make this an obvious move.
