At this time a year ago, a group including Proud Boys overpowered the police guarding the northwest staircase. They fought for 17 minutes, before the mob broke through and reached a terrace. A Proud Boy, Dominic Pezzola, broke a window, and Michael Sparks vaulted through. Hundreds followed and headed for the Senate.
