Jonah BromwichReporting from inside the courthouse
Robert Costello has asked several times to offer additional context, and Susan Hoffinger, the prosecutor, has made clear she does not want that context, cutting him off and moving to her next question. In doing so, Hoffinger shows that she believes she has the jury on her side after Costello nitpicked at her questions yesterday.
Still, it could be dangerous: as Costello says that there is context that he is not being allowed to offer, there is always a chance that a juror might wonder what it is he is being prevented from saying.
Fair point both ways by Brom.
