Sporting News

On February 14 Arsenal beat table-toppers Leicester to close within two points and "blow the Premier League title race wide open."

Since then they have:

Drawn at home to Hull in the FA Cup.
Lost at home to Barcelona in the Champions League.
Lost at Manchester United.
Lost at home to Swansea.
Drawn at Tottenham.
Won at Hull in the FA Cup.
Lost at home to Watford, knocking themselves OUT of the FA Cup.
Lost at Barcelona, knocking themselves OUT of the Champions League.
Blown their chances of winning the EPL wide shut. They are eleven points behind Leicester and have nine matches left.

Nice work. I don't know how Arsene Wenger can survive this season...Actually I do. Just finish in the top four again, qualify for the Champs League again, keep the money rolling in for American owner Stan Kroenke and all will be fine.

Panther watch:

Florida's hockey version is gonna make the NHL playoffs. It has been a magical year for the team and its supporters.

Pittsburgh's men's basketball version also made their version of the "playoffs," the 68-team NCAA tournament, a nice accomplishment, one they had to worry some to get done but nice. But Pitt basketball is not respected as it once was, gets as much and as little respect as it has merited the last five years, and when they made the "Big Dance" this year they suffered this hilarious troll by ESPN's Eamonn Brennan:

38. Pittsburgh Panthers
After finishing eighth in ACC play in per-possession offense and defense, Pitt is so thoroughly mediocre, and so obviously destined to lose on the first weekend, that we'd be less surprised to see Stony Brook in the Sweet 16. Wait: Does that make Pitt a Cinderella?!
