Brian Flores? Miami "Dolphins" next head coach is Brian Flores?

That guy looks familiar, I swear I know him, that's Brian Flores? No, that guy's name is not Brian Flores, I can't think what that guy's name is but I'll be a sonofabitch if it's Brian Flores.

So I googled Brian Flores.

No, that's Mike Tomlin.

Who is that old, bald Caucasian gentleman? WHO THE FUCK IS THE DOLPHINS NEW HEAD COACH?!

Brian Flores is, depending on who you read, the linebackers coach of New England:  The Dolphins have focused their search on Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores (I would consider NFL.com to be authoritative.), or the defensive coordinator of New England: Dolphins Expect to Name Patriots Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores Head Coach (I consider Sports Illustrated authoritative.). That there is split authority on exactly what Brian Flores does for a living does not commend Brian Flores.

Whatever Brian Flores' job title and duties are what Brian Flores is not is a "name" coach. Miami used to hire name coaches, like Don Shula, like Jimmy Johnson. Dave Hyde, a long-time "Dolphins" writer for the Sun-Sentinel, Dave Hyde who in another generation far, far away lobbied for and predicted that Shula would be asked nicely to leave to make room for Johnson, Dave Hyde this time lobbied for Jim Harbaugh. Name coach, Jim Harbaugh. Different generation.
