CDC's updated forecast came out at 8 p.m. Four weeks from today, the week ending Sept. 8 CDC forecasts an average 199,356 new cases/day. That is getting closer to the Trump Plague high. There is no leveling forecast. CDC also forecasts 1,014 deaths/day the week of Sept. 8, which is nowhere near Trump Plague highs.
Switching now to
Johns Hopkins, in the week ending Aug. 8 (the most recent available) Grand Old Plague cases averaged 108,624/day (up from 79,942 the Aug. 1 iteration , deaths 505/day (up from 362), vaccines 706,857 (up from 651,142). The Johnnies don't show the dailies on their dashboard anymore, only the weeklies. They have added a new stat, the 28-day cumulative total. So in the last twenty-eight there have been 2,139,617 cases and 10,456 deaths. There have been a cumulative 36.177,914 cases in the U.S. since Jan. 2020 and 618,434 cumulative deaths.
Oy vey, week ending Aug. 8. I had frustration with the Johnnies data when I consulted it previously. The week of Aug. 8 is hardly current. I'm going to give it a try.
